The Philistines now mustered their army for battle and camped between Socoh in Judah and Azekah in Ephes-dammim. Saul countered with a buildup of forces at Elah Valley. So the Philistines and Israelis faced each other on opposite hills, with the valley between them. Then Goliath, a Philistine champion from Gath, came out of the Philistine ranks to face the forces of Israel. He was a giant of a man, measuring over nine feet tall! He wore a bronze helmet, a two-hundred-pound coat of mail, bronze leggings, and carried a bronze javelin several inches thick, tipped with a twenty-five-pound iron spearhead, and his armor bearer walked ahead of him with a huge shield. He stood and shouted across to the Israelis, “Do you need a whole army to settle this? I will represent the Philistines, and you choose someone to represent you, and we will settle this in single combat! If your man is able to kill me, then we will be your slaves. But if I kill him, then you must be our slaves! I defy the armies of Israel! Send me a man who will fight with me!” As Goliath approached, David ran out to meet him and, reaching into his shepherd’s bag, took out a stone, hurled it from his sling, and hit the Philistine in the forehead. The stone sank in, and the man fell on his face to the ground. So David conquered the Philistine giant with a sling and a stone. 1 Samuel 17:1-10; 48-50.
This is a story about a young pimply faced kid's courage in the face of what looked like an impossible situation. He faced rejection, opposition and ridicule from his own family and achieved a great victory when greater men failed, by looking at the enemy right in the face and, instead of cowering an fleeing for his life, ran towards a giant of a problem and won!

Christians Occupy a Unique Position because we really do not belong to this world! We are citizens of Heaven & belong to a different kingdom
We are partakers of the Divine nature We are co-heirs with the Lord Jesus Christ of everything that exists in this Kingdom. We are anointed with the same anointing He has and we are more than conquerors through Him that loved us.
We do however live in a war zone where the enemy plays for keeps, shows no mercy, is unrelenting in his objective and hates us vehemently. He has one thing on his mind... to steal, kill and destroy. He & his cohorts will never accept us. The world system which is destined to fail does not want us around.
Knowing what we have and who we are means the difference between success and victory or failure and defeat.
In his letter to the Church at Ephesus, Paul speaks to a very large church that had allowed the flesh to dominate, allowing the enemy to gain a foothold.
In Ephesians he speaks chapter by chapter about-
  • Election and predestination
  • The grace of God
  • The eternal plan of God
  • Five fold ministry
  • Relationships
  • Marriage
He then summed up with the most important message of all, talking about being prepared for any contingency in life, especially in spiritual warfare, by speaking about the Armour of God. Our battles are not with flesh and blood and the weapons of or warfare are not natural weapons, but spiritual.
For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh, for the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but divinely powerful for the destruction of fortresses. We are destroying speculations and every lofty thing raised up against the knowledge of God, and we are taking every thought captive to the obedience of Christ and we are ready to punish all disobedience, whenever  your obedience is complete. 2 Corinthians 10:3-6.
