Pharaoh sent for Moses and Aaron and said, “Pray that the Lord will take the frogs away from me and my people. Then I will let your people go to offer sacrifices to the Lord.” Moses answered Pharaoh, “You may have the honor of choosing when I should pray for you, your officials, and your people. Then the frogs will leave you and your homes. The only ones left will be those in the Nile.”  "Pray for me tomorrow" Pharaoh said. Exodus 8:8-10.

God had sent a deliverer to his covenant people. Descendants of Abraham, they had every covenant right and privilege you can imagine, but were slaves. Because of one man’s transgression, sin entered the world and brought bondage and this is a spiritual principle that affects every human being on the plan. Scriptures are very clear on this aspect. Every one of us has fallen short of the mark because of sin and the penalty or the reward is death. Thankfully, God sent a deliverer who brought us freedom. His name is Jesus.

Moses, the deliverer came to the king and delivered a message from God. Let my people go!

This is a message that echoes down through time to this day. The Word of the Lord to ministers like me is to tell the ungodly rulers... the usurpers... the ones who are exercising  unrighteous government to Let God's People Go!
A seasonal change is on us and believers have a small slice of time to ready themselves for a divine transfer of all things back into the hands of God's people where it was supposed to be all along!

The Power of the Spirit

Jesus preached with the signs of his authority and mission accompanying him. Everywhere he went things happened!

And Jesus returned in the power of the Spirit into Galilee: and there went out a fame of him through all the region round about. And he taught in their synagogues, being glorified of all. And he came to Nazareth, where he had been brought up: and, as his custom was, he went into the synagogue on the sabbath day, and stood up for to read. And there was delivered unto him the book of the prophet Esaias. And when he had opened the book, he found the place where it was written, the Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, To preach the acceptable year of the Lord. And he closed the book, and he gave it again to the minister, and sat down. And the eyes of all them that were in the synagogue were fastened on him. And he began to say unto them, This day is this scripture fulfilled in your ears. Luke 4:14-21.

When John the Baptist sent his disciples to Jesus to make certain he was the promised one, Jesus did not answer them with a simple, “Yes”, he told them to observe what he did and form their own conclusions.

And there came a fear on all: and they glorified God, saying, That a great prophet is risen up among us; and, That God hath visited his people. And this rumour of him went forth throughout all Judaea, and throughout all the region round about. And the disciples of John shewed him of all these things. Luke 7:11-18.
John's disciples told him about all these things.
Then John called two of his disciples and sent them to ask the Lord, “Are you the one who is coming, or should we look for someone else?” The men came to Jesus and said, “John the Baptizer sent us to ask you, ‘Are you the one who is coming, or should we look for someone else?'” At that time Jesus was curing many people who had diseases, sicknesses, and evil spirits. Also, he was giving back sight to many who were blind. Jesus answered John's disciples, “Go back, and tell John what you have seen and heard: Blind people see again, lame people are walking, those with skin diseases are made clean, deaf people hear again, dead people are brought back to life, and poor people hear the Good News. Whoever doesn't lose his faith in me is indeed blessed.” Luke 7:18-23.

Acts 10:38 tells me that Jesus had God’s approval on him and that he was anointed for specific tasks, all in line with the above references.
God clearly intends to do things that get our attention, achieve results, change people’s lives, reshape their destinies and set us free from the penalties of sin of which sickness, disease, poverty, lack and death are the results. All of these things are action; dramatic; spectacular, or to put it this way— supernatural and why is this so?
It is because God is a Spirit. He lives and moves in the dimension of the spirit.
We are spirit beings who have a soul and live in a physical body. Our relationship with God therefore is not in the natural realm but in the spirit. It flows over into the physical. Religion substitutes spiritual truth for natural alternatives and this usually leads one into forms, ceremony, tradition, superstition, spiritual deception and ultimately into bondage.
This was the condition of the Egyptians. They had replaced God with an alternative and this is the sort of thing that is still happening today. Look around you for yourself. If you are open and honest, you will see this is true.

Anything… and I do mean anything that takes precedence over God himself, is false and idolatrous and a lot of the “Christian” church is full of ceremony, tradition and idols. Adam's real sin was not the eating of the fruit as such, but turning to the fruit tree for his source of information! And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat: But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die. Genesis 2:16-17 (emphasis mine).

Egypt’s false religion and idols were the very things God struck though Moses. Egypt had many gods. Whenever judgment comes, particularly because of idolatry, it often strikes directly against these false gods and their emissaries. It seems that God intended to show his supremacy over them. See Exodus 12:12; 18:11; Numbers 33:4.

The ten plagues brought against Egypt were directly aimed at their manner of life and their forms of worship. In other words, God aimed right at their false gods and false religion.
The River Nile was worshiped by Egyptians under various names or symbols. They referred to the river as being sacred as the father of life and father of the gods. They also abhorred blood, so by turning the water into blood, God struck at their very manner of life, their belief structure and their false gods. Exodus 7:15-21.

It appears that the magicians of Egypt copied this feat, but was it “supernatural”? I think not, for the bible says that they dug for water, but were not able to produce clean water out of their sacred river. Exodus 7:22-25.

The Egyptians worshipped the frog god. The second plague was an infestation of frogs and frogs are mentioned in two places only in the bible— here and in Revelation 16:13, where it is associated with uncleanness. See Exodus 8:2-14; Psalms 78:45; 105:30.
This species of frog (Rana Esculenta is the edible variety found on the continent). The Hebrew word is Tsepharde'a, which means Marsh-leaper, but they were not supposed to be abundant until December after the waters of the Nile receded and this was in our August!
With a reputation of being found near the marshlands of the Nile, it was extremely unusual for them to actually leave the Nile and invade the houses, courtyards and fields as the bible says. They may have left because of the dead fish following the first plague, but the important thing to remember is that they did arrive... when God’s man said so... and in the manner he said it!
There is good reason for this, because the Egyptians said that these frogs had supernatural abilities or divine powers. One of their false goddesses was Heqet, having the form of a woman with a frog’s head. They believed that the breath of life came out of her nostrils to bring life to the animals that her husband Khnum created. Heque supposedly helped women during childbirth, so frogs therefore were venerated and were not to be killed as they were another deity that helped them.

God dealt directly with this deity.

Instead of being pleasant and helpful, frogs were everywhere. Imagine going to bed and finding slithering, slimy critters croaking all night, getting inside the bedclothes with you and even jumping on your face during the night; wake in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom and treading on them. Go to wash your hands and frogs slide out of the faucet; open the refrigerator for a drink of water and… crooooak there is one staring out at you from a shelf. Imagine cooking a meal and finding them in your oven. That… would not be a French frog’s leg delicacy! No sir!  Years ago, I was awakened by one of those cute little green frogs that jumped through my open window and landed with a little, plop, on my face! Yechhhh! Thankfully it was not one of those ugly detestable toads.
I know God made all the little critters, but did he really have to make those things?
Anyhow, those ovens were often earthen pots which were heated and placed in a hole in the ground with the food inside them. Opening the lid of one would have been horrific

Egyptians had insect gods. The creation of millions of gnats out of dust and other insects was a direct blow by God at these false gods (see Exodus 8:16-19; Psalm 78:45). The creation of flies (Exodus 8:24) exposed Beelzebub, the god of flies, as being false. Beelzebub supposedly protected the people from such insects and hence from disease. Because cleanliness was necessary in worship these unclean flies and the putrid conditions that accompanied them, idolatrous worship was smitten by the one true God.

Egyptians worshipped just about everything you can imagine, particularly various forms of nature. As with many other cults and false religions, the sun, the moon, the stars and various planets in the universe were and are worshipped.
People today hug trees and like the Egyptians, worship streams, rocks and rivers. Rams, goats, heifers, crows, fish, the ibis and cats were objects of worship and killing them was completely against their religious beliefs.
They believed in reincarnation, teaching that loved ones would return in other forms, especially as animals. This is a common phenomenon today with Hindus, New-Agers, Asians and others. Pestilences on their animals were therefore a direct blow to their false gods.

Boils and blains on man and beast were against gods that were worshiped to protect them from such plagues. The hail and fire was directed against Isis and Osiris, the gods of light, health, fertility, arts, and agriculture. Water, fire, earth, and air were all objects of Egyptian idolatry. Instead of helping the Egyptians these elements became agents of destruction at God’s command.

As with all the plagues, God demonstrated supernaturally that he was in charge of everything and thus Lord of all. The god Serapis supposedly protected them from plagues of insects, particularly locusts. God showed that this false god was helpless before him by sending a locust plague and removing it when he decreed so by Moses.

There was the sun god who sent light, warmth and fruitfulness. By sending such unusual darkness, God declared that this god was another false god.

Finally, God dealt directly with life itself and the gods that were supposed to preserve life— the choicest of life and the lineage that was supposed to be preserved via the first born. Moses faced Pharaoh delivering an ultimatum and warns of the consequences of disobedience.

Then the Lord said to Moses, Go to Pharaoh and say to him, Thus says the Lord, Let My people go, that they may serve Me. And if you refuse to let them go, behold, I will smite your entire land with frogs; And the river shall swarm with frogs which shall go up and come into your house, into your bedchamber and on your bed, and into the houses of your servants and upon your people, and into your ovens, your kneading bowls, and your dough. And the frogs shall come up on you and on your people and all your servants. And the Lord said to Moses, Say to Aaron, Stretch out your hand with your rod over the rivers, the streams and canals, and over the pools, and cause frogs to come up on the land of Egypt. So Aaron stretched out his hand over the waters of Egypt, and the frogs came up and covered the land. Exodus 8:1-6.

Verse seven says that the magicians did likewise. But the magicians did the same thing with their enchantments and secret arts, and brought up [more] frogs upon the land of Egypt. They did so by reason of their enchantments, or Lāṭ. This describes some activity that is furtive or done in secret. Some of the words mean covertly, enchantment, privily, secretly, muffled, silently and softly. It reminds me of what Jesus said about the devil being a thief and a liar who likes darkness and that men’s deeds are done in darkness (See John 3:19-20).

God works openly, not furtively. He sheds and reveals light and does not hide in darkness, but the magicians wrought their mystic arts in a secret fashion. This is in direct contrast with the way God does things. Moses plainly declared what God was going to do. He did it in the open. He made it so plain that no one could mistake the message.

This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all. 1 John 1:5.
When those frogs came by Moses’ hand, the enemy tried to counterfeit it. Please remember that the devil can appear as if he is an angel of light… NOT an angel of light, seeking those whom he MAY devour. If you know the truth, according to Jesus, you are free and if you know the truth you can be aware of lies and deception. We are living in the close of this age, in days that are heralding the return of Jesus. Shortly before he does return, the bible tells us that there will be lies and deception, rebellion and disobedience. The word of God also says that there will be false apostles and prophets, but we need not be worried, because we can tell the difference when we are led by the Holy Spirit and have God’s word in our hearts, minds and in our mouths.
For such men are false apostles [spurious, counterfeits], deceitful workmen, masquerading as apostles (special messengers) of Christ (the Messiah).  And it is no wonder, for Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light; So it is not surprising if his servants also masquerade as ministers of righteousness. [But] their end will correspond with their deeds. 2 Corinthians 11:13 (emphasis mine).

You will never find a counterfeit three dollar note, because there is no genuine.
The devil is not a creator; he is a created being and a defeated foe to boot, so all he can do is attempt to deceive us.

Now the frogs came in their thousands, hopping and croaking slithering and sliding, jumping on your face in bed at night; getting into the water for a swim but that water happens to be your only drinking water. They are in everything. You prepare dinner and have to shove armfuls of the things off the table before you can eat. You swing your legs out of bed to go to the bathroom and step on them and then once in the bathroom… well! There is no escaping them and the inevitability of things that happened because you were responsible. You would have to be half brain dead not to realize that something is wrong! Worse still, realizing that your own actions— your own decisions and beliefs have led to all this! All your counsellors and advisors cannot help you. Deny it. Refuse to accept responsibility cannot change the obvious. You can drink yourself to oblivion to escape the guilt and sleep, but the thing is still there in the morning.

A whole nation was suffering because one man refused to listen to God.
Millions of people were suffering because one man tried everything but God’s way of doing things.
Millions of people were sick, suffering and in lack because of idolatry and false religion.
A nation of people in covenant relationship with God was being denied the fullness of God’s promised blessings because of one man’s action. You can have all the promises of God you can imagine, but they could be held up for all sorts of reasons, such as those above.

A man of God gives you the solution and there are but two choices... repent and do it God’s way or suffer the consequences.

Finally, when the situation had gotten out of control and no one could help, pharaoh called for Moses. The king did not turn to the magicians or the religious people for answers because he knew in his heart that they would not and could not help. Church cannot help you. Being charitable cannot help you. Doing good deeds cannot help you. Your righteous acts do not cut it with God. My friend, when the going gets tough and there is no answer in sight, you can do what you will and go everywhere else but get no answers that work.
On the other hand, if you turn to a man of God, a spirit filled believer, a man of prayer and the word of God, one who is tuned in to the Holy Ghost and knows the mind and will of God, the solution is a split second away.

The problem was that this man postponed the blessings. One man held up deliverance. One man caused disappointment, heartache, suffering and death when the answer was staring him in the face. Pharaoh knew that God was the one true God and that his servant had the answer, not his priests or his prophets or his magicians and asked for help and help came! Help is a prayer away. Peter was sinking in the waves and cried out, Lord save me and Jesus reached out in the twinkle of an eye and rescued him. There was no magic formula, no ritual, no religious rite to perform but a cry from the heart, Help and it came.

Pharaoh sent for Moses and Aaron and said, “Pray that the Lord will take the frogs away from me and my people. Then I will let your people go to offer sacrifices to the Lord”.  God even gave him the timetable for his release and the timing for the blessing to come. Moses answered Pharaoh, “You may have the honor of choosing when I should pray for you, your officials, and your people. Then the frogs will leave you and your homes. The only ones left will be those in the Nile".
You and I can change our destiny. You and I can set the stage for when release comes and when the blessings arrive.
And that, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep: for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed. The night is far spent, the day is at hand: let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armour of light. Romans 13:11. For He says, In the time of favor (of an assured welcome) I have listened to and heeded your call, and I have helped you on the day of deliverance (the day of salvation). Behold, now is truly the time for a gracious welcome and acceptance [of you from God]; behold, now is the day of salvation! 2 Corinthians 6:2.

You may not know what is around the corner. You may not know if you will ever have another opportunity like the one facing you right now.
Oh, I’ll do it tomorrow is a common saying, putting off something to tomorrow that may have needed doing yesterday. You may never get a second chance and miss it altogether. I would lot like to know that I have not done all I can to warn someone that they are about to fall over the cliff into a bottomless abyss and that is what I am doing now. If Jesus returned in 30 seconds from now, would you be ready?
The man answered Moses and in so doing answered God, Oh well, tomorrow will do. Pray for me tomorrow.
What if Moses was killed that night? God had no one else. What if the king’s horse rolled on the king and killed him?
There may not have been any tomorrow.

He would rather sleep one more night with those frogs than listen to Godly advice, repent and obey. When he set the time, God facilitated him, by performing two things. One was his own confession. The other was the word of his servant Moses.

Moses stated what would happen where and when and God performed the word of his servant.

You may not realize it, but you do have enormous word power available to you right now. I hope you use it wisely and well. Despite the king's confession, there was a specific plan and purpose in the heart and mind of God. He had made a covenant with Abraham and Abraham's seed and he was going to bless his people regardless. He was going to show that he was the only one true God in a showdown with religion and false gods and did so with great effectiveness.
By telling Moses to pray for him tomorrow, he put off the day of his visitation and he cheated millions of others from theirs.
We might not be in a setting quite like that today, but the needs are as real and the answers are just as real.
Please, do not postpone your deliverance. If you are not sure of your future, you can find out today.
