The Lord Jesus Christ said that He would build His Church. In Ephesians chapter Four, Paul said that Jesus gave us tools to help in this task.
And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ: Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ: Ephesians 4:11-13.

Study and be eager and do your utmost to present yourself to God approved (tested by trial), a workman who has no cause to be ashamed, correctly analyzing and accurately dividing [rightly handling and skillfully teaching] the Word of Truth. But avoid all empty (vain, useless, idle) talk, for it will lead people into more and more ungodliness. 2 Timothy 2:15-16.
Our objective is similar to Paul's advice and fit in with Christ's plan for His Church. The sooner we all get our collective acts together and get on with the task that Jesus gave the Church 2000 years or so ago, the sooner He will return!
